Tomorrow at 10 am - there will be a meeting between the agents of the owners of the FE Centre (which includes The Art Room) and possible purchasers.
If the joint offer being made by St Mary's Church in Rye and he Fletcher in Rye CIC is accepted...the Art Room will be saved.
Fingers crossed - there'll be more news here as soon as there is some!

Rye in East Sussex is famous as a destination for artists of all shapes, sizes, styles and hues. From Paul Nash to Louis Turpin via Edward Burra and Dora Carrington, Rye has nurtured and inspired great artists.
Yet the one publicly owned and "hireable" studio in Rye, is under threat of demolition. There's more information below, but time is tight. A planning application which could mean the destruction of The Art Room will be heard on 7th January 2011

Rother Planning will view the application to build 5 properties on the Art Room site on Friday...please object by sending an email as indicated in the "What Can I Do?" section on the right of this page.
