Rye in East Sussex is famous as a destination for artists of all shapes, sizes, styles and hues.
From Paul Nash to Louis Turpin via Edward Burra and Dora Carrington, Rye has nurtured and inspired great artists.
Yet the one publicly owned and "hireable" studio in Rye, is under threat of demolition.

Saved!
Thanks to pressure - and common sense - and some generous benefactors, the Art Room has been saved!
This blog will quietly retire, but the news will continue here...
